Thank you for your question. Yes, at times, my job can be stressful due to deadlines but, this doesn’t happen all of the time so, my stress levels are balanced out! Thanks, Gemma

My honest answer is yes, i my job stressful at times. The more senior you become in science the more stressful the job becomes. Limited funding is a huge stress factor and along with that, the pressure to publish work and data. Many scientist give up science due to being overly stressed. So Science is extremely rewarding but can also be very stressful. If you are thinking about a career in science, make sure you do your ‘homework’ and i don’t mean the ones set by your teachers. Make sure you talk to many scientists in the area that you want to work in as this will also make a difference to your level of stress.
