• Question: Do you agree with David Attenborough's statement that children's knowledge is decreasing in science? I believe that I have tried really hard in science like a lot of other children so I respectfully disagree with him.

      Dear Science Maniac,
I like your username very much and I am glad that you are such a big science enthusiast. I know that it would be hard to believe that there are reduced interest from children in science when you and your friends find it so fascinating, but unfortunately this is a growing trend. I know that children are becoming less interested in science because I am part of a team at the University of Manchester who are trying to boost interest in science, technology, engineering and maths for children. I don’t believe that is this the children’s fault but our government’s fault and they are now trying to correct this by encouraging more teachers to teach science and maths.

I am sure that you work really hard in science, and your friends with common interests, are also working very hard. We need students like you to keep in working, you are doing a great job. We will continue with our job to increase interest in science for children.

Hope I have answered your question. any toher queries, please send them to me.

      Loan.
