      Hi @Cristina Riquelme,
      Thank you for your inquisitive question. Yes, the current project that I’m working on is laboratory based and I’m growing blood vessels. I’m trying to investigate how inflammatory molecules which are released into our blood, from fat cells (adipocytes), effect blood vessel development/formation and look at what happens next. I’m particularly interested in determining the effect that obesity could have in blood vessel formation because inflammatory molecules are at higher levels in obese people compared to individuals with a normal BMI. There has been a link suggested in the literature between obesity and breast cancer metastasis (spread of cancer from breast tissue to another organ not directly connected with it like the lungs or brain) and I would like to find out if this might have to do with blood vessel formation.
