Michael Schneider answered on 17 Nov 2015:

Yes, very much! Most of my classmates were curious and outspoken, and most of the professors very proud to be teaching us. The main difference from the UK in the US is that students don’t specialise as early. My “field of concentration” a/k/a “major” was History of Science. I knew I’d be doing laboratory research later, and wanted especially to be made to read and write while at uni. Besides the many biology classes, I also liked classes in art history, animal behaviour, neuroscience, and the American landscape. And, I met my future wife there!!
