      Thanks for your question!
      The heart in the embryo starts beating at week 5. At this point it is still not completely formed but is already able to pump blood through the body. The heart starts beating at around 80 beats per minute and it goes higher every week. It can beat up to 195 times per minute! (The adult heart is usually around 80)
