• Question: to be a scientist did you have to know a lot of maths.

      Hi poo,
      Thanks for your question! Do you like maths?
      It depends a little bit on the science you choose. If you are a mathematician you do need to do a lot of math obviously. If you are a biologist you don’t normally do a lot of math. We need to use math sometimes to understand our experiments but it is not too often and even if we can do it without them we now have computers to help with all the math and statistics.

      Dear horsey10.
      You will need some basic maths to be a good scientist. This is because maths teaches you to look for patterns and pay attention to details. So although we do not need to do hard maths in science (some scientists do no maths at all) the training you get in maths lessons is useful in science.
