      Hi,
Thanks for your question, i hope that i can answer it to your satisfaction.

The scientific name for heart attack is Myocardial Infarction. During a heart attack, blood supply to the heart is temporarily blocked causing some part of the heart to die. If the heart attack results in the heart stop beating, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) needs to done immediately, if there is any chance of rescuing the patient.

Heart attacks are often caused by a blood clot in the artery. It can take many years for a clot to grow big enough to block a blood vessel to cause a heart attack but the process can start as early as in adolescence. All this happens silently and the patient may display no symptoms until the heart attack in middle age.

Many factors affect the growth and build up of the clot:-
      1. Unhealthy diet, eating too much fat and high calorie diet
      2. Lack of exercise
      3. Smoking
      4. Obesity
      5. High blood pressure
      6. Diabetes
      7. high blood cholestserol

Every one can reduce their risk of having a heart attack if they modify their life-style to a more health and more active life-style.

I hope I have answered your question. Please keep asking, it is the best way to learn.
