Thank you for your question. I did a PhD because I really enjoyed working in a laboratory and doing research. Before I started my PhD, I did several research placements in laboratories within both the university and in industry and I loved working through a problem – starting with an idea, all the way to finding an answer. I also felt that it fitted me – I wanted to improve my understanding and problem solving skills and a PhD certainly did that for me.
