• Question: Who was the first proper scientist?

      Thank you for your interesting question. There are so many ‘first proper scientists’ that exist in all of the fields of science from physics, chemistry and biology and I don’t think that I will be able to find all of the firsts for you but, for me the ‘first proper scientist’ is Robert Hooke – who first discovered the cell in 1665. He was an amazing and pivotal scientist who enabled me to do what I do everyday – look at cells under a microscope!!
