• Question: how long did you have to train to become a scientist?

      Hi @winona dodds,
      Thank you for your interesting question. I guess I’m still training everyday as a scientist because things can change quite quickly but it is very interesting as I certainly never get bored. I spent 4 years studying an undergraduate degree (I studied in Scotland) and then 3 years (plus 6 months to write up my thesis!) studying for a PhD so, just over 7 years of training at university which is the same length of time that a medical doctor would need to train too. I hope that answers your question.
