      Hi Bree88,

Yes, we do get to travel quite a lot as scientists. Part of what we do is meet up with other fellow scientists to know what they are doing and also to let them know how we are doing in our project and that way we help each other move faster. It is also for us a way to put some faces to the names we see in the articles we read and find new labs to work in. It is thanks to one of those meetings that I got the opportunity to move from Spain to Oxford!

      Hi @Bree88Bree88,
Thank you for your question. Yes, my job does involve travelling. This can be, for example, to scientific conferences, meetings, lab visits or even longer trips where I could possibly learn a new technique in another lab. It is through travelling to these events that I get to meet fellow scientists who work on similar areas to me and I get to learn from them. It is also a fantastic way to build up your scientific network and make new friends.
I hope this answers your question. Thanks, Gemma
