• Question: How long do you spend In a lab a day?

      Hi Dwebb,

      It depends quite a lot. I think typically it would be between 9 and 10 hours but the good thing is that the schedule is usually super flexible, so if you don’t want to you don’t have to wake up early, for example. Sometimes we need to come on weekends (if the cells need feeding for example); but I find it very good that you can decide when to come in and when to leave (generally most labs are flexible like that), so even when we do long hours we can make it work quite well.

      About ten hours a day. Longer if I’m writing something long and complicated, or working on a major lecture for a scientific meeting.
