• Question: How many langauges do you speak?

      Hi Ilya,

      I speak English, Spanish and German. A little bit of Italian and Portuguese because they are latin languages, similar to Spanish.

      How many can you speak?

      I speak American English and British English equally well! My German is not bad, though in school we learned mainly to read and write in German, rather than to speak it, and once I went to see an opera in Berlin and completely misunderstood the story. I also know a little bit of Japanese, enough to make traveling there a little easier and more fun. To me, learning Japanese was much more intriguing than German, because it’s so totally different from English (unlike, say, any of the languages of Europe).
