      Hi skyebriadband,
That is a very good question! I think you need to always be interested in learning. You will need some good grades but it doesn’t matter if you are not the best. Just keep being curious about how things happen and figure out what science you like better (physics, math, biology..). Depending on that try to study as much of that subject as possible and choose to study that in uni. That is how I did it at least!

      Dear skybroadband,
The ingredients to make a scientist is boundless curiosity, sacks of self-motivation, a great willingness to work hard, plenty of patience and the mental hardness to try and try and try again. You will need these qualities about you to make you a scientist. As for when you start, some of these qualities you are born with. Work hard, stay focused. You are young enough to choose any career you want if you work and put in the hours, not only science.

Talk to lots of people and read around the job. If you enjoy science then you will do well in your exams. Good grades can get you to the next level of your education. Science education will open many doors for you. If you change your mind later, with good grades, you can go into pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, engineering….

The key is to work as hard as you can from as early as you can.

      Good luck

      Loan.
