      Hi @obricknell.
Thank you for your question. I’m not a nutritionist so, I’m not an expert in food but, I enjoying eating and keeping my body healthy. I would say that there isn’t just one food which is able to make your heart healthy but, any foods that help to lower your cholesterol (which is a fatty substance found in your blood and too much can lead to increased risk of heart disease) and lower your risk of some cancer are best for you. This involves making sure that you have a balanced diet which includes plenty of fruit and vegetables (ideally 5 portions a day), plenty of starchy foods (like bread, rice, pasta and potatoes), some milk and diary products, some meat, fish, eggs, beans and a small amount of foods that are high in fats and sugar. Also you will need to keep an eye on the levels of salt in your diet as too much can increase the risk of developing high blood pressure (which can lead, if too high, to developing heart disease or having a stroke).
I hope that answers your question. Thanks, Gemma
