      Hi Alejandra!
Well, as much as being a scientist is exciting we do have bad days in our jobs as well. I think it is very frustrating when for some reason our experiments don’t work, like the cells die or we don’t get the results we are looking for. But then you get one day when the experiment you have been working hard for ages works well and it compensates all of the other!

      Dear Alejandra,
There is not really any part of my job that I really hate. Like Cristina, there are days which can be frustrating because the experiment failed and I have to figure out why.

Where I do think improvements are needed is in the level of funding that is available for science. I do hate the fact that great scientists with great projects have to really compete against each other for funding. The success rate for funding application is around 10% I believe.
